I’ve blogged for over a year, first on Typepad and now on Blogger. I like the ease of publishing to my own website hosting account with Blogger and I like that it’s free. But I don’t like that it doesn’t offer categories. Now I know from my latest browsing that tags are more flexible than categories, so perhaps tags are what I should use. Here are three ways to use del.icio.us tags for blogger categories in a way that Technorati will see them too, via FreshBlog. FreshBlog also suggests the use of multiple blogs for categories, with auto-forwarding via email to a main blog. I like that idea for main categories of a site.
I’m not ready to put time into this at the moment having spent some time this morning getting Haloscan comments and trackbacks installed on this blog. But maybe I’ll get to the categories and/or tags later this week.
