Hmmm, well, I've surfed over to check out your 'other' (I take it more well-known?) blog, as I am soon to be in mourning for the retirement of your mom-blog. Little did I know I'd stumble into controversy! Very exciting stuff.

Thanks both of you for continuing the conversation. I find it painful but valuable.

Adam, I might have told you in comments that I didn't like "chick" but you don't have comments open on your blog. I didn't want to feature that issue on my blog. Next time, I'll let you know.

That is a bit strong Shelly. Obnoxious, dense sure, but "incredibly offensive"? I've responded at length on my blog:

Anne, if I offend you again, please don't hesitate to call me out on it. If you don't want to blog it, just email me.

Shelley, I know you wouldn't. I know you wouldn't be a contributing editor for BlogHer either. Or call yourself a girl geek.

My priorities are to have fun, to learn, and to connect with the tech community. I make decisions based on those priorities.

I did feel offended when I read Adam's post, but I didn't see that expressing my feelings would get me anywhere. So I chose the oblivious route and used it as an opening. Perhaps I was wrong, but I did what I felt best at the time.
