I’ve noticed a lot more activity in my feed reader since Labor Day. People are getting serious about blogging again, and I am too. From yesterday:
- Will Weakening Economy KO Web 2.0 Startups? [GigaOM]
- Tried and True Ways to Make Money Online [Web Worker Daily]
- Shells with Caramelized Onions, Blue Cheese, and Toasted Walnuts [The Everyday Cafe]
- Personal Project Productivity for the Hippie Right-Brained Creative [Anne Truitt Zelenka]
And from last week:
- Email Immunity Changes Email Etiquette [Web Worker Daily]
- 6 Tricks for Making Your Own French Bread Pizza [The Everyday Cafe]
For this week, I have a few things I might write about:
- Author platforms vs. author networking continuing the discussion from Chris Webb’s post
- Slow-cooker beef burgundy — made it yesterday, quite delicious but a lot of work and more expensive than I imagined, given the beef ended up costing close to $30. The wine was cheap, fortunately. I just used box wine we’d opened a couple weeks ago.
- More on how I use projects to keep myself motivated and productive in a way that works with my bursty, right-brained temperament.
- A review of Penelope Trunk’s Brazen Careerist book. She’s a great writer with sharp advice, and I really mean sharp, because sometimes it hurts!

Where are you getting your beef? Are you going a place like Whole Foods (which is really good quality but really pricey)? If so, you might want to look for a source of local beef from a smaller independent butcher. Given where you live, I guarantee that there’s something that is both excellent and local (possibly even pasture rather than grain fed), not to mention substantially cheaper.
(yeah, out of all those other excellent points you made, I latched onto the cooking, lol)
